My 3 boys served in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2004. Our youngest son was in Infantry and after several deployments came back as a shell of the person who left. Hes on so many drugs from the VA and he is basically a zombie. It has also affected me, his mother, being on Xanax for 20 years as I couldn’t sleep worrying about my boys. I have went from 1 mg up to 8mg over 20 years. Now tapering down but had no idea how these antidepressants, Sleep aids and benzodiazepines affect us. My doctor doesn’t even know how to deprescribe me. I had to bring the Ashton Manual which is a bit antiquated but not much information about getting off benzodiazepines. My son is going to try psilocybin on his own, he is medically retired, This scares me to death! This whole process needs to be put on the fast track so we can stop loosing these beautiful young men and women to the damages they were never prepared for. Please help! Please expedite this process! Please! 🙏🏼

Tangentially related, the Australian govt has made $3.8m available for MDMA assisted group therapy for 200 survivors of the 2022 Lismore floods who are suffering from PTSD. It is being run through Southern Cross University and is being viewed as a trial for future post disaster treatment for PTSD sufferers around the world. Crimes against humanity and genocide are generally a whole different order of suffering to natural disasters but, you know, it's a start...

Kanna has to first become very popular and lucrative to A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE for it to be "safe" from a DEA ban. I'm basing that on Kratom's history in the US. If it weren't for the "Kratom Lobby" pushing back HARD against the government's move to SCHEDULE Kratom, it would already be long gone and forgotten by now.... How easily it got banned in Europe, Canada, and Australia because a critical mass of people never found out about its wonderful healing properties. As a veteran with PTSD and CPTSD dealing with chronic pain I too have found that psychedelics especially psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT has been extremely effective in helping me handle my PTSD I really appreciate this podcast. I am currently looking for the right MDMA therapist who does psychiatric psychotherapy who is a good fit for me as I really desire to finally really go into what is underneath my PTSD and C-PTSD. I truly believe that it is with Veterans with PTSD that we will make any movement towards legalizing psychedelics at a minimum in a therapeutic setting. My deceased husband was EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) who was training for the Air Force special forces. He did para rescue, even did a few jumps with the Seals, and was trainer to be a first responder combat medic. He died 14 and a half years ago from a brain aneurysm due to a large tumor in his brain. I know it was caused by what he did for the Air Force. His death is one of many traumas that I have experienced but in service and out of service. Just wanted to introduce myself and thank you so much for this podcast it hit home.

That's the mentality, the state of consciousness, behind the whole industry that created the drugs. We, collectively, weren't coming at it from the wisdom of embracing emotions, of an expanded perspective on life, like what is facilitated through psychedelics. We tried to excise depression, and that's precisely what we did (and no more).

It's not merely visual distortion, it's hypersensitivity to the reality of inevitable death, existential dread and the feeling of being on borrowed time. Life, death - whats the difference? Paradox. Somehow I've adapted and learned to function - albiet very difficult without opioid dependence. All the people off Dead Tour I know who were printed and puddled got strung out - just trying to achieve some peace. I find this whole idea that psychedelics help mental health ridiculous. It's a psychotomimetic, not entheogen.

5-meo-DMT is the Cadillac of the Triptymine. Its little cousin N,N Dimethyltryptamine is the Porche model. Both extremely classy, and a step above your average LSD, unless you are ingesting Sandoz, Owsley, or Nicki Sands finished product. Everything else is mid-tier, although i have never had anything by pickard, shulgin, or one or two others in that circle. We have been blessed to have been able to test and take the sacrament ourselves and with people we care sbout to traverse the unknown.
